Melissa graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a major in Marketing and minors in Organizational Management and Communications.

With her long standing interest in consumer behavior, Melissa enjoys figuring out why people do what they do, what catches their attention, and what motivates them in life and in their purchasing decisions. By getting to this fundamental root of all marketing, “we lead horses to water.”

Before Risdall Sandstrom Media Works, Melissa worked at Campbell Mithun as a broadcast negotiator, specializing in radio negotiations for H&R Block, Dish Network, Great Clips and Toro. From there, she moved down the block to Carmichael Lynch where she continued to work in media negotiations, as well as media planning, serving a variety of clients including Harley Davidson and Korbel champagne.
